After moving to Montreal from Poland in 1974, Magda Kuskowski completed her architectural studies at McGill University in 1977. She worked for the Architects Bland, Lemoyne, Shine and Tolchinsky and Goodz before joining Dimakopoulos and Partners as a design architect in 1981.

Kuskowski was one of the key designers for three major competitions: the Museum of Man in Hull, the Headquarters for Hydro-Quebec in Montreal, and the Musee d’Art Contemporain in Montreal for which she received a mention.
